I’d like to start by giving a grateful shoutout to the community for the overwhelmingly positive reception of my monthly coloring page idea.
I'm excited to start on this fun new art adventure with you all!
September’s Pick:
Child of Shivay by J.R. Cathers
I devoured this high fantasy romance debut in like 2 days.
The story follows Shivaria (right), an elite assassin trained to end the life of the Feyn King. The worldbuilding is lush and mythical, the prose incredibly poetic, and the characters absolutely lovable. I thought it was the perfect series to welcome the fall season.
This scene was chosen by J.R. Cathers' amazing street team. And a big thank you to everyone who helped me pick out the outfits for Tig (left) and Shivaria (right) on my IG.

Some tips for first-time colorists:
- If using markers, I find it helpful to print on thick, smooth paper. I printed mine on 270 gsm cardstock paper to use with alcohol markers. Make sure to put something behind it, in case the markers bleed through & ruin everything you love.
- Using coloring pencils is another excellent option & you can just print on regular printer paper.
- Don't overthink it, don't worry about the end result. Just color and have fun!
